Red Rock Canyon - 9 Jan 2011

Took the Zig along for a side project. Couldn't be more different than spending last thurs/fri in a very snowy Yosemite. So, here is red rock canyon state park. It's on the east side of the Sierra, just off the 14. It's about 3-4 hours from Fresno, depending on which way you go, so we made a daytrip of it. Definite plans to go back and overnight sometime. Would love to see some of those walls in the morning light!

The Zig goes to Work

Took the boy to work with me since it was the first sunny day we'd had in weeks. Nothing makes him happier than spazzing out over all new sights and smells.

Slushie Meadows - ah well

Skied in to a 'no name' meadow I noticed on one of my topo maps and alas, it was one big slush fest (and a fairly small meadow, as meadows go). The pup was still healing from her torn paw debacle and thus had to wear 'the bootie of shame' and suffer the indignity of trailing a line since she's been a bit unresponsive to 'come' lately. Hard headed. It's a tough life.

ARRRGGHH. Catch-Up Time!

Well, after a whirlwind holiday we are back in Fresno STILL trying to get life sorted out. So, forgive my multi posting while I post up some of what you missed.
