Potter Pass to the twins

Took the Zig up to do Potter last friday. The Kaiser wilderness was gorgeous, as usual, but there were a ridiculous number of people in the vicinity of upper twin (40+). Have no idea who let the secret out but between the horses and the crowds, Can't say I'd recommend this trip in summer anymore (at least, not as a 'getaway' trip). Still, the flowers were just starting to pop and the weather was perfect. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for...

Nellie Lake, Kaiser Wilderness

Took my eldest with me and went in search of Nellie Lake, up above Huntington. Was a nice little hike (kudos to the FS crew clearing trees off the trail) and a great getaway from the heat. Sadie is apparently in way better shape than I am....

Mt Nelson - Snow in July

Finally a day off from work!! Ran the Zig up Mt Nelson to wear him (and me)out yesterday. Gorgeous weather and plenty of snow still lurking around. at just over 10k feet of elevation it was the perfect weekend warrior jaunt.

Shaver Lake Day!

Ran the pups up to Shaver before the tourist season gets into swing... In my next life I want so badly to live on a gorgeous blue lake... preferably as a well-loved dog.
